Why Red?
Normally, the microalgae that swim about freely in pools of water are green. However, when the water pools dry out and the algae are exposed to intense sunlight, they begin producing large quantities of bright red astaxanthin, which protects algae from UV penetration. This powerful antioxidant allows algae to survive - even in the harshest of conditions. This is what protects most crustaceans, including shrimp, crawfish, crabs and lobster from constant sun exposure, and gives them their tinted red color. The astaxanthin protects your skin in the same way that it protects algae.

CoQ10 - Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) is produced by the human body and is necessary for the basic functioning of cells. CoQ10 is found in each cell of the body. As we age, our CoQ10 levels diminish, allowing the aging process of the skin. CoQ10 improves both the rate and efficiency of energy production in the cells, and at the same time protects the skin from free radicals which cause aging skin.
Hyaluronic Acid - Used in skin and wound healing. Hyaluronic acid is naturally found in the extracellular matrix of human tissue. Topically applied hyaluronic acid forms an air permeable layer and penetrates into the dermis, thus boosting the elasticity and hydration of the skin. The protective breathable barrier on the skin locks in moisture which gives the skin a youthful appearance. The cuticular layer of the skin normally contains 10-20% water, however as we age it can drop to below 10%. Hyaluronic acid comes to the rescue with its unique ability to hold more than 1000 ml of water per gram of hyaluronic acid, which is a key factor in allowing the skin to retain more water. Hyaluronic acid also protects the epidermis by scavenging reactive oxygen species generated by ultra violet light which would normally cause sunspots.
